Accounting With A Heart

Updated: Dec 9, 2023

When I first began the process of becoming an Accountant I spent a lot of time researching the areas that I could take my career. However, I can honestly say that I never thought it would lead me to the place I am today.

I had dreams of climbing a corporate ladder, and making a lot of money. This is because like many young professionals all I was considering was my future, my success, my goals. This is not inherently a bad thing. In fact, I would say it is necessary to have a clear path for where we want our goals to take us. But what do we do when we run head long into achieving goals and realize the person that set those goals is no longer who we are?

This leads me to here. This moment in time when you are reading this. I have spent the past five years working as an Accountant. I have worked for large organizations, and I have worked or small organizations. I even did a year working in Public Accounting/Consulting. There is one thing I have identified in each of these roles. Most business owners know only enough about accounting to do harm, and usually not enough to protect themselves from erroneous and unethical Accounting. This is where my inspiration comes to play.

I began this blog as a place where business owners can read about some of the experiences I’ve encountered over the years. So that if possible, you can gain a better understanding of how to examine your financials, and therefore able to make better decisions. We will likely post here 2-3 times weekly. Hopefully it is information that you find valuable.
